A short 3 month engagement as part of my time at PwC for Concert - the ill-fated and short-lived BT and AT&T joint venture.
I took over the support of a cost allocation system that was significantly under performing. I redesigned, developed, tuned and documented a new software solution that reduced the running time of the cost allocation process from 3 hours to less than 2 minutes whilst also improving data integrity. I developed techniques and solutions for automating the production of appropriately formatted Excel based management reports from live system data.
I can’t claim that this system single-handedly brought down the joint-venture, but I like to think that I played my part by improving the quality of the management information!
